MD-KNEE is a Class III injectable medical device based on Type I porcine-derived collagen in the form of tropocollagen.

It is used as mechanical support for the regeneration of structures composed of fibrous connective tissue, damaged as a result of injuries (trauma, surgical procedures), ageing, UV exposure, environmental pollution, and other factors that may lead to collagen fibre degeneration.

The excipients in the formulation support the structural action of tropocollagen.

Arnica exhibits anti-inflammatory properties, particularly in inflammation caused by injury, which commonly affects the knee joint. It helps alleviate symptoms such as pain and swelling. Arnica contains active compounds (arnidiol, faradiol, arnicolid compounds and isoquercetin) that enhance its supportive effect, therefore creating optimal conditions for the main action of collagen — stabilisation of the knee joint.

Sesquiterpene lactones present in arnica demonstrate anti-inflammatory activity. The IJ-5 lactone is an inhibitor of the expression of pro-inflammatory protein-coding genes — it blocks the TNF-α/NF-κB pathway by inhibiting the ubiquitination mechanism of signalling proteins through interaction with the UbcH5 factor.

Additionally, the IJ-5 lactone blocks autoimmune processes.

Faradiol, isoquercetin and arnidiol also contribute to anti-inflammatory effects.

Product effects:

  • improves the range of motion of the knee joint
  • facilitates stretching of the muscles around the knee
  • supports maintenance of periarticular muscle tissue
  • alleviates local pain, including movement-related pain of the lower limbs
  • osteoarthritis of the knee joint
  • rheumatoid inflammation of the knee joint
  • soft tissue structure damage around the knee joint

Composition: Type I collagen.
Excipients: Arnica Montana, water for injection.
